Doubly-so if they have no agenda.* Unregulated open office plans are terrible. They invite distraction and hamper productivity.* "When someone takes your time, it doesn't cost them anything, but it costs you everything"* Keeping up with group chat, emails, other notifications, is a terrible way to spend your day and time* "Where you live has nothing to do with the quality of your work, and it's the quality of your work that we're paying you for"* Projects with inflexible scope and deadlines are a recipe for stress, dread, and missed expectations.* Perks designed to keep you at the office are evil. Better find a company that encourages you to have a life outside of work.All in all, great book. I'll be buying it as gifts for some office-bound friends and family.

About the Author
Mark Raymond Harrington (1882-1971) was one of the pioneers in Cuban Archaeology at the beginning of the twentieth century in a country in which anthropological science began to develop. His studies and findings allowed the development of archaeological studies on the island.At the request of Mr. George G. Heye, director of American Indian´s Museum, Harrington went to Cuba on February 1915 with the mission in mind to continue the archeological explorations that Teodoro de Booy left inconclusive.This was the first scientific attempt to study in detail Cuba's first inhabitants and as a result widening of the Cuban archeological register. His main destination was the easternmost Cuban municipality, in the province of Guantánamo, called Baracoa. At one of the sites, he found stone and clay artifacts. Betwen 1918 to 1919, he explored some caves in the Guantánamo area. His explorations led to him to publish his notes and findings in a work entitled: Cuba Before Columbus (1921), published in New York by the Heye Foundation and the Museum of the American Indian. This work was intended to be a two part series of al least three volumes. However, Harrington just published Part I, volumes 1 and 2. In 1935, this work was translated by the Cuban scholars Antonio Mestre and Fernando Ortiz into the spanish language. The controlled and well registered extensive excavations carried out by Harrington in several locations in Cuba where he collected materials such as seashells, stone and clay items able him to stablished a chronology and to determine the cultural stages of Cuba's aboriginal population. This chronology is used up to the present. Today, Cuba Before Columbus is an obligatory references for those scholars interested in Cuba prehistory. Dr. Angel Rodriguez, Editor.
